Dina Woodruff

Dina is the woman behind it all, having conceptualized Peridot in 1989 and kept it thriving and growing ever since. Her intentions back then were simple—to create a casual, friendly place where you could walk in and find an ideal gift for anyone (or yourself). There would be unusual and unexpected items, classic pieces, and goods from near and far, and the staff would be like a family. More than 20 years later, the business has blossomed and expanded, but Dina’s original hopes remain fulfilled.

As a true Atlantan, she ensures that her stores reflect the spirit of the city—its energy, diversity, history, and uncanny ability to deliver something for everyone. Much like spending a day in one of Atlanta’s charming, walkable neighborhoods feels like a getaway from urban life, stepping inside Peridot feels like an escape…yet the city lights are still within sight.

An expert gifter, yes, but Dina is also an entrepreneur, philanthropist, mother, and natural renovator and builder. Even as a young girl, she could often be found rearranging and redecorating her bedroom. She appreciates the impressive things (a striking string of lanterns on a porch) as well as the unassuming (a dainty light in the corner of a room) and hopes everyone that sets foot inside her stores will, too.

We’ve moved a few times and have found our favorite place in the West Side Design District full of fun restaurants, shops, and activities just minutes from our fab neighborhoods, midtown and easy access from Vinings and beyond.
